Since its start in June 2021, the development of Plus Ultra Groningen at Campus Groningen location Zernike Campus is in full swing. The design of the building has now been rewarded with the BREEAM-NL Excellent certificate for sustainability.
From the start of the design plans for Plus Ultra Groningen, sustainability has always been important. The building is therefore being developed with a high sustainability ambition. That ambition has been translated into practical and meaningful measures. For example, a spacious PV panel roof provides the building with electrical energy and there is no gas connection. Furthermore, the flexibility of the building contributes to the circular thinking and future-proofing. Because of all these sustainability measures that have been taken into account in the design, the Dutch Green Building Council has awarded the BREEAM-NL Excellent design certificate to Plus Ultra Groningen.
Plus Ultra Groningen offers approximately 10,000 m2 of office and laboratory space for innovative companies, knowledge and research institutes that want to build a strong community together with Kadans Science Partner and Campus Groningen. Research and innovation in the field of energy, technology and sustainability will be the connecting force between all users.
Plus Ultra Groningen is part of the international network of Kadans, which connects various science parks and campuses in Europe. This stimulates collaboration between knowledge-intensive organizations in order to work together towards a better future.
