Fontys Engineers Meet & Match 2021
Fontys Engineers Meet & Match is the annual event connecting companies and students from College of Engineering. This year Fontys Hogeschool Techniek en Logistiek from Venlo also joins. Are you a company looking for interns or graduates? Are you looking for cooperation with Fontys? Would you like to be in the picture with 2000 future engineers and ICT professionals in one day? And would you like to speed-date virtually with eight to 15 students of your choice? Or present your company virtually to a group of students? Then this event is for you. On Thursday 8 April 2021 this can be done from 09.00 – 16.00h.
Purpose
The purpose of the event is for companies to get in touch with future Engineers, Informatics and Logistics talents to fill an internship or graduate position. Companies and students connect with each other through a video link. The format includes four elements:
Virtual Speeddates
During a 20-minute speed date, a 2nd-, 3rd- or 4th-year student and a company engage in a conversation together. Prior to the event, both companies and students fill out their own profiles. Companies indicate the type of student they want to talk to. For example, with 2nd year automotive and/or mechanical engineering students. The students indicate which companies they would like to talk to. In this way, companies and students are matched. As a company you have a maximum of 15 speed dates per virtual speed dating area with students who match your indicated preference. The speed dates are scheduled in advance so that everyone has a personalized schedule. You can already reserve Thursday April 8 in your agenda, and at your (home) workplace.
Virtual business presentation
The event also offers the opportunity to give a virtual presentation of up to 20 minutes to a group of students who choose to be present at the presentation. Interaction with students here is limited due to (possible) group size. The presentation can also be a recorded presentation that is displayed here. Interaction is then obviously not possible.
Virtual “business market”
For all students who do not have the opportunity to engage in a 1:1 conversation with a company, is the “company market”. Companies can interact here with small groups of students (maximum 10). Students can ask questions and share information.
Workshop “How to formulate a good assignment”
For all participating companies in Fontys Engineers Meet & Match 2021, we offer the possibility to participate in the virtual workshop “How to formulate a good assignment”. During this workshop, prior to the event, we will discuss the components of a good internship or graduation assignment. This way you can be sure that your assignment is in line with the training and with the students. This may help you to make students even more enthusiastic about your company.
For whom
The event is meant for all companies who want to get in touch with students of Fontys University of Applied Sciences Engineering and Fontys University of Applied Sciences Engineering and Logistics who are looking for a (graduation) internship. Students from years two, three and four of the following programs will participate in the speed dates and share their resumes:
