Zuidelijke Rekenkamer
Zuidelijke Rekenkamer is a knowledge institution set up by the provinces of Noord-Brabant and Limburg. Zuidelijke Rekenkamer has the statutory task of monitoring the policy and expenditure of the two provinces and conducts research for this purpose. Examples of recent research include the investments made by the province of North Brabant in the Eindhoven regional deal and photonics and the management of a paper factory in the province of Limburg. Broad themes on which we conduct research are infrastructure, mobility, economic development and physical living environment (quality of soil, air, water).

What were the most important reasons for you to open an office in the Kennispoort building on TU/e Campus?
“We had to move away from another location in the center of Eindhoven and wanted an alternative in the same environment, suitable for a knowledge institute.”

What are your expectations of your presence on the campus? What do you want to achieve?
“We want to be a good neighbor and knowledge partner for the organizations on campus.”

With which organizations on TU/e Campus do you already work together and what do you do together?
“In our first weeks we focused on getting acquainted and exchanging with other organizations in the  Kennispoort building.”

Are there other organizations on TU/e Campus with whom you would like to work?
“For the coming period we are interested in exchange and possible cooperation in the field of data processing and data visualization. Furthermore, we regularly have students who do internships with us, often from Tilburg, Nijmegen, Utrecht and Maastricht.  It’s about time we have someone from the TU/e do a research internship!”

How can you help the other organizations on TU/e Campus?
“We have good contacts with and knowledge of government agencies, on whose behalf we work. This concerns first and foremost the administration of the provinces of Noord-Brabant and Limburg. In addition, we have a lot of contact with municipalities and other knowledge institutions in those two provinces and, finally, with partners at the national level (Netherlands Court of Audit, Government of the Netherlands).”
